Tonight, a new report has connected the Edmonton Oilers to star power forward Alex Tuch as a potential free agent target this summer.

The Edmonton Oilers are expected to be aggressive this summer in re-loading their roster after a disappointing season that ended with a first round loss to the Anaheim Ducks.
Already, the Oilers are expected to trade veteran defenseman Darnell Nurse to clear cap space and re-shape their defensive unit.
Now, a new report has suggested the Oilers will potentially use the salary cap space created in that trade to try and sign Alex Tuch in free agency.

According to a report from NHL insider David Pagnotta, the Oilers are exploring ways to clear up salary cap space to take a run at Alex Tuch.
Maybe some other teams enter the mix that are a little closer to winning maybe on a shorter term deal, who knows, maybe Edmonton if they can move some things around. - David Pagnotta on Alex Tuch
Tuch, 30, has been one of the most productive two-way forwards in the NHL with great underlying numbers at both ends of the rink.
He was a key reason the Buffalo Sabres were able to break their Stanley Cup Playoff drought in 2026.
However, his offense did dry up in the playoffs where he struggled to stay consistent which has likely led to the end of his tenure in Buffalo.
He would be a perfect candidate for the Edmonton Oilers and could be a great compliment to either Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl to get them the puck and be a high-end complimentary player on either player's line.
As free agency approaches, it will be fun to see if the Oilers are continuously connected to Tuch or if Pagnotta's sources are proven wrong.
As more information is provided on Tuch's future and the Oilers free agent targets we will pass that news along to you.
