This is a major change from the expectation heading into the offseason when many around the league assumed that McDavid's contract negotiations would be wrapped up by now. A new report from Frank Seravalli has indicated that the Oilers need to have some urgency in contract talks because McDavid's camp could potentially shut talks down during the season. <h3>Frank Seravalli Indicates Connor McDavid's Camp Could Implement Contract Negotiation Deadline</h3> In a new appearance, Seravalli indicates that if McDavid makes it to opening night without a contract then he could push the pause button on negotiations until the end of the season entirely.
