Leon Draisaitl torched the Edmonton Oilers coaches, defense, and goaltending, and it sounded like pure anger after another loss.
This came after Wednesday’s 4-3 Battle of Alberta loss in Calgary, a game where Edmonton leaned on the man advantage and still couldn’t close.
Draisaitl didn’t sugarcoat the big issue, he said the Oilers "can’t defend."
He went right at the blue line habits, pointing to loose coverage, soft clears, and the kind of chaos that turns every rush into panic.
Then he hit the hardest nerve, he said there are saves the Oilers goalies need to make "at some point."
That’s not just a vent, it’s a star telling the room the margin is gone.
Tristan Jarry stopped 21 shots, but Edmonton still gave up four on a night where the defensive layers looked thin.
Edmonton is now 28-22-8, and the skid is three straight heading into the break.
Leon Draisaitl turns the heat on Edmonton Oilers
Oilers fans are tired of "almost," and this sounded like the same frustration screaming from the stands.
Draisaitl also said getting back on track "starts with the coaches," and he doubled down with "it starts at the top."
That’s a massive line to drop in public, even if he’s trying to light a fire.
On the ice, he did his part, two power-play goals in the loss.
On the season, Draisaitl sits at 29-51-80, still dragging results forward while the details behind him leak.
Evan Bouchard had three assists, but if the Oilers keep trading chances, those points won’t matter.
When Edmonton returns, the next stretch needs structure, not speeches, or this becomes a full-blown identity crisis.
