Leon Draisaitl, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, and Warrior are <a href='https://www.nhl.com/oilers/partners/leons-equipment-draive' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>joining forces to help equip the next generation of hockey stars</a>. Fans throughout Oil Country can drop off gently used hockey equipment at Sport Central drop-off locations. Anyone 13 years or older who sends in a photo of their donation will be entered to win the opportunity to meet Leon Draisaitl at Rogers Place at some point during the upcoming season. The 29 sets were in reference to his Oilers jersey number, #29. The program is a result of a wider partnership with the NHLPA's Goals and Dreams initiative. A total of 58 complete sets of equipment will be donated to the Junghaie across the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons. The program is Cologne's only minor and junior hockey system and has almost 300 players aged four to 20. Kolner Haie publicly acknowledged Draisaitl and the NHLPA for their assistance and acknowledgment of their youth development work. This act of international goodwill is a nice complement to Draisaitl's work locally in Edmonton, again demonstrating his willingness to give back to the game both at home and internationally.
