Kris Knoblauch provides latest details on Tristan Jarry's injury status
The latest details on Edmonton Oilers goaltender Tristan Jarry's injury from head coach Kris Knoblauch don't paint much of an optimistic picture for the newly acquired member of the team.
Almost as quickly as he got to the Edmonton Oilers, goaltender Tristan Jarry is now unavailable because of an injury that he suffered in just his third game in an Oilers sweater.
Jarry was hurt while trying to make a save in their recent game against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden and had to leave the game; he was replaced by Calvin Pickard.
The Oilers have since called up goaltender Connor Ingram from the AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors.
But the latest injury update from Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch on Jarry's condition didn't exactly paint the most optimistic of pictures. Per Knoblauch, there's no available update even after he returned to Edmonton for further evaluation.
For now, the Oilers will have to move forward with the tandem of Pickard and Ingram, and there have been rumours that they could potentially be thinking of yet another goalie acquisition if Jarry is hurt long term.
The Oilers Now Have The Worst Goaltending Stat In The NHL
Pickard's stats aren't encouraging, as he has an NHL-worst SV% of .858. Additionally, it won't encourage Oilers fans that Ingram has an AHL-worst .856 SV%.
Ingram is playing in his first year in the Oilers organization after being acquired from the Utah Mammoth; he also had a stay in the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program to deal with the anxiety he felt following the tragic passing of his mother from breast cancer.
Before being called up to the Oilers, Ingram was 4-5-2 with the Bakersfield Condors.
