This evening during his post game press conference Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch provided a timeline update in relation to Connor Brown's injury. Game 3 for the Edmonton Oilers saw the team lose Connor Brown to a suspected upper-body injury after being head hunted by Dallas Stars defenseman Alex Petrovic.

Loading from Twitter ...

Initially, reports from inside the rink indicated that Brown would be able to return to the game before its conclusion. Ultimately, this ended up not being the case as the Oilers ruled Brown out at the beginning of the third period. With Brown ruled out the question remained regarding the exact injury he suffered and how long he might be out with this injury. Tonight Kris Knoblauch provided an initial report on Brown's well being and prognosis.
Kris Knoblauch Provides An Update On The Injury Suffered By Connor Brown
During his post game press conference, Knoblauch was asked directly about the health of Connor Brown. In his response, Knoblauch admitted that Brown was still in the evaluation phase and the tomorrow he would provide a full report. I don't have an update about him right now. Tomorrow morning I'll have some more information. Knoblauch's full comments on Brown's injury and prognosis along with other thoughts on Game 3 can be found below.

Loading from Twitter ...

These comments from Knoblauch seems to indicate that the injury suffered by Brown is more severe than the team initially thought. If the team was considering putting him back in the game they had to have assumed the ailment was minor. However, with Brown needing more testing, that is clearly no longer the case. With that in mind, tomorrow's press conference with Knoblauch will provide major context regarding Brown's availability going forward. If Brown does have to miss Game 4, look for either Evander Kane or Viktor Arvidsson to get an opportunity in the lineup. As more information is made available on Brown's health and availability for the Oilers we will pass the latest news along to you.
