Today during a new in-game interview Dallas Stars head coach bashes the referees for a call he felt they got horribly wrong. The officiating during the Western Conference Finals has been a major point of controversy. Both DeBoer and the Stars as well as the Oilers and Knoblauch have felt at a disadvantage due to the officiating of this series through the first two games. This afternoon in Game 3 that has continued as DeBoer took the opportunity in the first period to lay into the referees. During the first period, the Edmonton Oilers seem to put the puck out of play leading to a delay of game. However, the referees let the penalty go uncalled saying they did not see it and play continues with the Oilers scoring a pair of goals shortly after.

Loading from Twitter ...

This, of course, led to debate and outrage from Stars fans regarding the call on social media. Near the end of the period, Emily Kaplan of ESPN interviewed DeBoer and he shared the fans frustration and anger.
Pete DeBoer Calls Out The Officials For Missed Call In Game 2
During the interview Kaplan asked DeBoer if he was okay with the no call on the delay of game play. Of course, DeBoer was not okay with the call and was still incensed by the missed call.

Loading from Twitter ...

DeBoer continued on and claimed that the no call led to a huge momentum shift ending in two goals for the Oilers.

Loading from Twitter ...

The Oilers currently lead the Stars 2-0 after the first period on the back of those two goals scored. After the game, it will be fascinating to see if DeBoer walks back his comments or doubles down on his thoughts.
