NHL analyst Frank Seravalli is urging the Edmonton Oilers to fill holes in their roster by acquiring a depth scoring forward and a good fit defenseman with the trade deadline approaching.

The Edmonton Oilers have have multiple additions to their teams over the years, notably at last year's trade deadline in which they acquired Trent Frederic and Jake Walman among other moves.
They would go back to the Stanley Cup Final against the Florida Panthers, only to come up short once again.
The Oilers have already made a major move this year by acquiring Tristan Jarry and Sam Poulin from the Pittsburgh Penguins for Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak, but there could be more coming.
Per NHL analyst Frank Seravalli, the Oilers need to pick up both a depth scoring forward and a good fit defenseman.
You've got Connor McDavid doing ridiculous Connor McDavid things. It's a burn the boats year again. You're in the spot, you're trying to do everything you can with these guys (McDavid and Leon Draisaitl) in the heart of the prime of their career. I have zero doubt that they're going to be pursuing additional depth scoring help, trying to find the right fit on defence. Maybe they got a little bit of that with Spencer Stastney.

I think the Oilers are in a spot where they've got to do everything to keep that pedal to the floor - Frank Seravalli

The Oilers Are Second In Their Division

After some inconsistent play early on in the season, which the Oilers have become known for, they've put together a much stronger streak.
They're only one point behind the Vegas Golden Knights for first place in the Pacific, and if they have realistic intentions of making a third straight Stanley Cup Final, they may need to pull off the moves that Seravalli has suggested.
