Former NHL goaltender Devan Dubnyk gave Edmonton Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner a huge compliment today as he spoke about the team's goalie situation. When the Edmonton Oilers offseason began after <a href='https://www.nhl.com/news/why-edmonton-oilers-were-eliminated-from-2025-stanley-cup-playoffs' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>losing in the Stanley Cup Finals to the Florida Panthers </a> goaltending was the biggest question on everyone's mind. During the finals, both Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard struggled to perform each being pulled for one another at different points. This failure led many fans to outcry for a new goalie but to this point the Oilers have not made a move. Today, former Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk gave reasons why he still believes in Stuart Skinner while also putting his hypothetical plan in place to improve the Oilers tandem. <h3>Devan Dubnyk Praises Stuart Skinner While Discussing Oilers Goalie Problems</h3> During an interview, Dubnyk went to bat for Skinner reminding fans how young he is and how much room for improvement there still is. Skinner's got more playoff experience than three-quarters of the league is ever going to have. We forget that he's a young goalie. It feels like he's been there a long time. But he's only 26 years old and should be entering the peak years of his career right now. Despite his belief in Skinner, Dubnyk still believes the Oilers will make a move to give him some help by replacing Calvin Pickard. I think they'll do something to upgrade the goaltending. I hate saying that because I love Picks. If that's the case, I hope he goes somewhere we he can play. I wouldn't be surprised early on if Edmonton can get someone who can push Skinner. Now, it will be up to GM Stan Bowman to either follow the suggestions made by Dubnyk or stick to the plan and roll with Skinner and Pickard heading into next season.
