After the move was made, Rodriguez's former club Barys Astana released an official statement regarding his termination. <h3>KHL Club Releases An Official Statement After Terminating Olivier Rodrigue</h3> In the statement, Barys Astana confirmed that Rodrigue suffered a serious injury and the recovery process is what ultimately led to his release. Due to an injury sustained during training, Olivier Rodrigue underwent an in-depth medical examination, which revealed an injury requiring additional treatment. After discussions with the hockey player, a decision was made to terminate Rodrigue's current contract with Barys by mutual agreement.
