Per a new report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, there are at least three different teams who could be trading partners for the Edmonton Oilers in their badly-needed search to upgrade their goaltending situation. It's no secret that the Edmonton Oilers are experiencing more issues with their goaltending, as both Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard continue to fail to show any kind of consistency. It's led to an increase in recent trade rumours, as the Oilers have been linked to goalies like Tristan Jarry of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Jordan Binnington of the St. Louis Blues. But in a recent '32 Thoughts' podcast, NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman has connected the Oilers to three different potential trading partners in the Penguins as well as the Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets. Elliotte Friedman: Re Oilers goalie search: There's not a lot of goalies available, there's Merzlikins, there's whatever Buffalo's willing to do, and there's Pittsburgh - 32 Thoughts (11/28)

Loading from Twitter ...

Both Elvis Merzlikins and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen could benefit from changes of scenery, and it will be interesting to see whether or not the Oilers will pull the trigger on any of the aforementioned names.
Elliotte Friedman Has Speculated A Move Could Be Coming By The Oilers
It's not the first time that Friedman has floated the chances of the Oilers making a move, as he also recently wondered if Edmonton general manager Stan Bowman could try and move on from Skinner. They felt very strongly that they had to know they were getting a guaranteed upgrade to give up on that. Now, you have to ask yourself: are you losing by not trying to come out even? Is there a situation where you feel someone will be rejuvenated in Edmonton, like Skinner might be elsewhere? The other question you have to ask: will a change lift our team? Is this weighing on them, too? Skinner's .885 SV% and Pickard's .847 SV% just won't get the job done if the Oilers want to go on another extended postseason run.
