The Edmonton Oilers continue to bolster their roster for a deep playoff pushes, as they have just signed David Tomasek, the leading Scorer in Sweden's top league.

The Edmonton Oilers announced today they have signed forward David Tomasek, the leading scorer in the Swedish Hockey League, to a one-year, $1.2 million contract for the 2025-26 season.
Tomasek is expected to end up on Edmonton's opening night roster next fall, as the team has very high hopes for him.
The 29-year-old centreman has played in the Czech Extraliga, Liiga, KHL, and SHL, bringing his offensive talents to the Oilers after most recently dressing in 99 games for Sweden's Farjestad BK over the past two seasons.

This elite forward collected 102 points in 99 games

During his time there, Tomasek scored 49 goals and added 53 assists for 102 points.
The right-shot native of Prague, Czechia, led the entire SHL in points (57) and assists (33) this past season while also ranking third in goals (24). He helped Farjestad capture its first regular-season league title since 2018-19.
Tomasek also appeared in 10 games for Czechia at the 2024 IIHF World Championship, where he scored once and added three assists for the gold medal-winning squad.
Before embarking on his professional career, Tomasek played two major junior seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Belleville Bulls back in 2013-14 and 2014-15, so he does have Canadian and North American experience.
