The Oilers have recalled Quinn Hutson, who is one of the team's top prospects and is absolutely dominating in the American Hockey League at the moment.
The Edmonton Oilers have called up Quinn Hutson from their affiliate team, the Bakersfield Condors, which will help them out in their road trip, where they will be playing three games in a row.
What Quinn Hutson is doing to make him stand out
At just 23 years old, Quinn Hutson has been a nightmare for the opposition in the AHL this year, notching 16 goals and 28 points in 24 games.
He leads all rookies in both categories in the AHL and trails the league leaders by just three points, with eight of those goals being scored with a man advantage.
Hutson signed a two-year entry-level contract with Edmonton on April 14th, 2025, after a stellar performance with Boston University, where he scored 23 goals and collected 50 points in 38 games in his last season.
The youngster debuted in the NHL just after inking a deal with Edmonton and got to experience the top level right away.
Why it may be crucial for the Oilers to insert Quinn Hutson into the lineup right away
A native of North Barrington, Illinois, Hutson is expected to give some support during this road trip, which continues on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
While it is unknown whether he may or may not immediately make an appearance in the lineup, given the Oilers' thrashing at the hands of Montreal, his pace, goal-scoring potential, and most especially, power-play skill, may be exactly what they need to right their ship during this road swing.
