The Edmonton Oilers are in for a fight against the LA Kings, and now they've made a shock move ahead of game one, sticking with Stuart Skinner in net.

The past few months haven't gone the way the Edmonton Oilers would have liked, and while they're still dealing with injuries, they're close to healthy as they begin their first-round series with the Los Angeles Kings.
It won't be an easy battle, especially with LA holding home ice advantage, and on Monday night, they'll look to pick up a. big victory to turn the tide in their favour early in the series.
Now, they've made their first big decision of the post-season, naming Stuart Skinner as their Game One starter despite only just returning from injury, with many believing that Calvin Pickard gives them the better chance to win in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Last year however, Skinner posted a .901 save percentage and a 2.45 GAA as he led the Oilers to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, and if he can rekindle that form, this may be the Edmonton Oilers best chance to win the Cup in the Connor McDavid era.
While goaltending is crucial to this team, the performance of their stars can help them overcome that, and with both 97 and 29 expected to be healthy, they head into their series with the Kings full of confidence.
Ultimately, this was a very tough choice for Kris Knoblauch and the Oilers coaching staff, as both Skinner and Pickard have shown the ability to win big games, but with the team choosing Skinner, it appears that they're looking to ride the goalie that took them deep last season as they face a very tough Kings opponent.
