This evening, the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks have been linked in a major trade centered around veteran forward Jake DeBrusk.

The Edmonton Oilers are still reeling from their round one loss in the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the Anaheim Ducks.
The loss sent a clear message that change was needed at all levels of the organization.
That change began with the firing of head coach Kris Knoblauch and is now expected to continue with changes to the roster in different areas.
The Oilers are expected to target a talented winger to pair alongside Connor McDavid to replace the production of the aging Zach Hyman.
This evening, the Oilers have been linked to Canucks veteran Jake DeBrusk as a potential target.

Edmonton Oilers linked to Canucks forward Jake DeBrusk in potential offseason trade

A new report from Jesse Courville-Lynch has named DeBrusk as the perfect buy low candidate the Oilers are looking to acquire.
Right now, DeBrusk has become underrated. He is on a solid contract, and with the cap going up, it justifies trading for him even more. He can still produce offensively at an effective rate, and he is someone who could be a perfect buy-low candidate for the Oilers.

DeBrusk struggled to produce last season but was in a terrible situation on an abysmal Canucks roster without much talent surrounding him.
Even still, DeBrusk managed to score 23 goals and tally 42 points on one of the lowest scoring teams in hockey.
At 29 years old, DeBrusk would fit in with the Oilers core group and likely be a perfect compliment to either Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl on the wing.
While DeBrusk is not a sure thing to get back to higher production he is one of the best bets available on the market for a bounce back season.
As the offseason gets underway, all eyes will be on Oilers GM Stan Bowman to see if he can strike a deal with new Canucks GM Ryan Johnson.
