Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch gave us an update on Zach Hyman's status ahead of tomorrow's game. The Edmonton Oilers have gone on a bit of a cold streak, dropping to third place in the Pacific Division for the first time in months. The Kings passed them in the standings with their latest win to give them 81 points through 65 games while the Oilers have 80 through 66. Making matters worse for Edmonton is the fact that one of their key forwards could be out of the lineup tonight in a big matchup against the New York Rangers, who are fighting for their lives in the playoff race. That forward would be Zach Hyman, who has been a consistent part of the team's top-six and has 22 goals and 37 points on the season. Hyman left the Oiler's last game in the third period, getting just 10 minutes of ice time in the contest.

Understandably, this made many Oilers fans worried, especially as we did not get an update on Hyman's status after the game.
Kris Knoblauch Gives An Update On Zach Hyman's Injury
Kris Knoblauch corrected that this morning, saying that the 32-year-old will be a game-time decision in New York tonight. He did not give any specifics as to what Hyman is dealing with, but it should be noted that he was a full participant in morning skate with the team, which is a good sign.

Hyman is up to 641 career regular-season games, 296 of which have come with the Oilers. He has 225 career goals, 436 points, and a career rating of 122. Those are pretty solid numbers for a former 5th round pick. Hopefully we will see him on the ice tonight as the Oilers look to make it a four-win road trip, potentially taking the second spot in the Pacific Division back from LA.
