Edmonton Oilers Announce Surprise Lineup Move That Has Fans Buzzing

The Edmonton Oilers have been struggling as of late, but given that they are missing their two top stars as well as starting goaltender Stuart Skinner, it comes as no surprise against some tough opposition.

Now on Wednesday they play the hottest team in the entire NHL in the St. Louis Blues, but before the game, they got some fantastic news on their most important player.

According to Chris Johnston, captain Connor McDavid will slot into the Oilers lineup, making his first appearance since back on March 20th, and with five games left in the season, this should give him plenty of time to get things going before the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin.

It's unclear if he's back to 100% or if he's simply healthy enough to get back on the ice and help this team, but whichever one is true, the Oilers are in desperate need of a boost, and against the Blues on the road, they needed that.

In 63 games this season, No. 97 has been incredible as usual, tallying 26 goals and 90 points in that stretch, and with Leon Draisaitl also sidelined, the team needed some good news before post-season play begins.

We will now wait and see if the Oilers captain can be his usual self after struggling through a few injuries this season, but even at 75%, he's one of the best players in the NHL, so this return will give them a major boost as they look to build momentum and get back to the Stanley Cup Finals after coming so close to hoisting the Cup a season ago.
