The beginning of the offseason allows for players to rest and refocus heading into the new season. Most of the time, players will take a good portion of the summer to rest skating individually to sharpen their skills before getting back on the ice in a competitive format. For Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl that timeline seems to have been accelerated this summer. Last offseason McDavid showed up to a similar summer hockey scrimmage while Draisaitl was seen with other German hockey stars doing the same in his home country last offseason. Clearly, McDavid and Draisaitl are locked in on improving for next season and doing so together as they try and lead the Edmonton Oilers to the elusive Stanley Cup the organization has been chasing.
