The Flames have placed defenseman Dryden Hunt on waivers today, and he will join Ben Jones of the Wild and Egor Zamula of the Flyers.
The Calgary Flames have placed forward Dryden Hunt on waivers, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, as teams complete their rosters in advance of Friday night's league-wide freeze.
Calgary called Hunt up late last week, but he didn't get into any NHL action during his brief call-up to the big club.
What the Calgary Flames have in store for Dryden Hunt if he clears waivers
If Hunt clears waivers, he should head back to the AHL's Calgary Wranglers, where he's been a key contributor this season.
At 30 years old, he has five goals and 18 points in 16 AHL games, providing solid depth for the Flames when needed. His NHL total this year sits at two appearances, with no points.
Why Dryden Hunt wasn't the only player to hit waivers on Thursday
Thursday was a busy day around the league as Friedman also reported that Minnesota Wild centre Ben Jones and Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Egor Zamula were placed on waivers.
Zamula, 25, has been a regular on Philadelphia's blue line for three seasons. The 6-foot-3 blueliner, a pending restricted free agent with a $1.7 million cap hit, has one assist in 13 games this year.
He logged 15 points in 63 games last season after posting a career-high 21 points in 66 games the prior year.
The 26-year-old Jones has gone without a point in 19 games for Minnesota this season and has two assists in two AHL games.
