Very bad news for Cole Caufield

Scoring 40 goals in a season in the best hockey league in the world is quite a feat. To do it with less than 200 games of experience (123 to date) is even more so. If Cole keeps up the pace, he'll reach that mark quite easily before the end of the campaign.

For this reason, his charisma and his spectacular side, Caufield certainly deserved to represent the Canadiens, along with Nick Suzuki, at the NHL All-Star Game. However, this will not be the case.

Of course, Caufield was in a battle with Auston Matthews, David Pastrnak and Andrei Vasilevskiy in the Atlantic Division. We agree that these are not any random players and that it's understandable that fans voted in larger numbers for these three stars.

Despite the fine effort by Habs fans and Cole, if Caufield's presence at the All-Star Game were to come down to the popular vote once again, it will have to be even better next year.
