The 18-year-old confirmed that it is his dream to play in the NHL. Even though he is signed in Russia right now, his medium to long term plan is to join the best league in the world.

If not for all the current circumstances, Michkov would have been able to play at the World Junior Championship, and he certainly would have confirmed his presence in the top-3.

Many believe that he is nothing less than the best Russian prospect since Alexander Oveckin. To imagine getting your hands on such a talent with the 6th or 7th overall pick in the draft would be pure madness!

In 27 games in the KHL with the Sochi team, he collected an impressive total of 20 points. This is the highest point total by a Russian prospect in his draft year in the history of this league.
