The file is pretty much closed, but in the last few hours, an interesting piece of information surfaced and it was worth mentioning.

During his media availability following the game against the Lightning where he warmed the bench for 60 minutes, Jonathan Drouin mentioned this:
"I missed the meeting, I came in two minutes late. This is my ninth year in the National League and it's never happened to me in my career." - Jonathan Drouin

Now, according to what DansLesCoulisses.com reports, it was finally not the first time that this situation occurred in the career of the 27-year-old Quebecer.
"In fact, it wasn't the first time he missed a team meeting since he made his pro debut.

It was notably one of the topics on Georges Laraque and Maxime Truman's show today on BPM Sports. The former Habs player, while digging around, came across a CBC News piece published in 2016, in which we read that Julien BriseBois (GM of the Syracuse Crunch at the time) had suspended the Quebecer for one game, precisely because he had missed a meeting."

Now that this has been said, I think we can definitely put this story behind us.
Missing two meetings does not make him a bad person by any means. It can happen to anyone and he accepted his punishment without grumbling, even though he knew full well that he was the only one at fault in this story.
He will have a great chance to showcase himself tonight, at the center of the Habs' second line, along with Josh Anderson and Denis Gurianov.
We sincerely wish him a solid performance!
