The Christian Dvorak trade is aging very badly for the Canadiens

BY MARCO    JUNE 25, 2023  (2:03 PM)
When Phillip Danault and Jesperi Kotkaniemi jumped ship two years ago, Marc Bergevin turned to Christian Dvorak.

The Habs were in desperate need of centers, but it's fair to say that these were not the DG's best decisions, especially since Dvorak was never quite the player he was thought to be.

While all fans agree that Dvorak is no longer part of the plans, the Coyotes continue to celebrate this transaction.

"Sean Durzi has one year left on his contract (1.7M against the Yotes' payroll). The 2nd-round pick in 2024 they're trading to the Kings is the one the Montreal Canadiens had given up in return for Christian Dvorak."

- L.A. Larivière

The Coyotes really hit the nail on the head when they traded the 2nd pick in 2024 acquired in the Dvorak deal for Sean Durzi. To think that the Habs are now stuck with Dvorak, who may not even play center or top-9 next year.
