The Montreal Canadiens have a growing pool of prospects year after year, thanks to numerous selections in recent drafts.

However, a large pool of prospects also means that the organization has to sign them after a certain period of time, otherwise they will lose the rights to them and they will become free agents afterwards.
While the CH's GM signed defenseman Jayden Struble, who was finishing his four years in the NCAA, there are still three Tricolore prospects to sign this summer. Kent Hughes still has some big decisions to make, as he still has to sign the three young players if he doesn't want to lose their rights.
Those players are goalies Frederic Dichow and Joe Vrbetic, as well as forward Jack Gorniak.
As the excellent Andrew Zadarnowski mentions, expect both goalies to be signed, but perhaps not Gorniak. There is always the option of offering him an AHL contract, which would save a contract among the 50 limit, plus allow for his evaluation at a higher level.
However, he's not tearing it up in the NCAA, despite being 23 years old. He has accumulated a production of only 12 points, including five goals in 31 games this season.
Quebec defenseman Miguël Tourigny, who just finished his season in Slovakia, could sign with the organization soon. The seventh round pick in 2022 has done well in a professional league with five goals and 24 points in 39 games.
He could come in and give the Laval Rocket a serious shot at the end of the season.
There will be many big decisions to be made by the Habs' staff in the coming weeks concerning their young prospects.
