An appalling scene is currently making the rounds on the web, as we can see a well-known journalist, outright bullying a child who was living her dream. All this happens during a press conference of an NHL team. As my excellent colleague William Nadeau of Habs and NHL explained so well, here is the nomenclature of this frankly very regrettable situation: <q>- A young person, who dreams of becoming a sports journalist, probably like the superb Chantal Machabée was, attends her first media availability, ever. - While she is visibly embarrassed and intimidated by the situation, we see that she stays back and doesn't want to impose herself too much. - To encourage her, her companion suggests that she come a little closer, to fully experience the junior journalist's experience and to better see what is going on. - Shyly, she agrees to take a few steps towards her dream of participating in a real NHL press conference. - She tentatively begins to lift her microphone, barely has time to take a second step forward, and a reporter turns around.</q> The reporter in question who turned around, flat out flipped her off. He could have taken her under his wing, given her an unforgettable experience and possibly made a positive impact in her life, thanks to that day, but no. He decided to act completely inappropriately, and it's possible that this could have brutally destroyed her dream. Some perceive the scene as outright bullying of the child. <q>Ark. I feel so bad for the junior reporter, who probably felt her confidence completely destroyed. It's amazing how many people refuse to accept someone new and something fun.
