A Fresh Look at Brock Boeser's Situation with the Canucks
Taking a closer look at what's going on with Brock Boeser
and the Vancouver Canucks, there are some interesting things happening.
Boeser Changed his Mind
According to respected reporter Pierre LeBrun, Boeser met with the GM after the season to let him know that he wants to stay with the team.
"The temperature seems to have cooled down on the Brock Boeser
front. Remember, the Canucks gave his agent permission during this past season to feel out the trade market directly by speaking to teams.
Nothing came of it. And my understanding is there haven't been any teams calling this offseason so far.
And while he's still a name that many view as potential trade bait this summer, the reality from what I'm hearing is that the Canucks are more than happy to keep him in the fold if nothing comes their way that makes sense.
Boeser requested a meeting with Canucks GM Patrik Allvin after the season in which the player shared that he would prefer to stay put. That isn't to say he's no longer in play. The Canucks are still listening. They're in need of a No. 3 center and a blue line upgrade. But all things being equal at the moment, there's very little activity here."
This news might surprise many considering the previous tension between Boeser and the Canucks just a few months ago. We'll have to wait and see what happens during the offseason.
