Samuel Girard's Heroic Sacrifice For Families Affected by Forest Fire Evacuations

By now you're probably aware of the forest fires raging through parts of Quebec and Ontario, and if you weren't aware, you are now. The devastating fires have forced thousands from their homes, and have thousands more on edge as they wonder if they'll be next. In this time of great sadness and fear, Samuel Girard of the Colorado Avalanche is doing his part to help out others.

In the town of Roberval, Quebec, Samuel Girard has opened up his home to families who've been displaced due to the fires. The Avalanche defenseman didn't think twice about helping fellow humans in need, showing just how selfless he truly is.

Girard certainly didn't have to open his home, and he could've just as easily left for somewhere that was safer but instead chose to stay and do his part.

They say no good deed goes unnoticed, and that certainly seems to be the case here. Fans on social media are beginning to find out about Girdard's selflessness, and are flooding him with praise.
