Pierre-Luc Dubois file: the name of Juraj Slafkovsky has just been mentioned

BY MARCO    JUNE 21, 2023  (3:31 PM)
Speculation is rife in the Pierre-Luc Dubois file. Every day, it seems as if a new trade proposal is raised, and believe us, we're filtering through several.

This morning, it came from José Théodore, and we're telling you about it because it makes a lot of sense. But let's be realistic: even if Dubois absolutely wants to leave Winnipeg, we won't get him for breadcrumbs.

We know that the Kings are currently working their magic on Dubois, and that they're offering a good price in return for Gabe Vilardi and Quinton Byfield.

Getting back to Theodore, his comments make sense, even if they're not unanimous:

"As much as Marc Bergevin defined his reign by getting Shea Weber for P.K. Subban, Hughes might as well define his with the acquisition of Dubois. I think we know what to expect from Dubois. He's a sure thing, but his price has to be right.

Certainly, for Dubois, it's going to cost youth and probably one of the two first-round picks in the first round. We could also see a player like Juraj Slafkovsky or Kaiden Guhle leave for Winnipeg, as well as a prospect like Logan Mailloux. As for Suzuki and Caufield, they're here to stay."

José Théodore

Obviously, Kaiden Guhle represents the CH's future on defense, so it would be very surprising if Hughes let him go. However, we're curious to see what happens with Juraj Slafkovsky. Could the first overall pick in 2022 be included in a deal for Dubois?
