NHL Scout Believes There's too Much Hype Surrounding Connor Bedard

The arrival of a gifted player like Bedard in the NHL is always met with great excitement. But is the hype surrounding him too much?

There is no doubt that Bedard has the potential to make a significant impact on whichever team he joins. His skills and abilities could greatly benefit his team.

However, an anonymous NHL scout expressed some caution during a conversation with Corey Pronman of The Athletic.

In a recent paper on The Athletic, Corey Pronman interviewed some NHL scouts and one of them made the following statement about Bedard:

"I worry the hype on him is getting a little out of control. He's No. 1, he's the guy, amazing player, but I'm not sure I'm projecting him to be like an immediate top 5-10 player in the league or something. He's not McDavid. I still think you're getting someone who could have a Patrick Kane-type of career though if he hits."

Many have drawn comparisons between McDavid and Bedard, noting their similarities and the milestones Bedard has surpassed. However, according to the scout, despite Bedard's brilliance, he doesn't quite measure up to McDavid.

According to the scout, the Chicago Blackhawks might acquire a talent resembling Patrick Kane, which is impressive, but not as much as signing a player like McDavid.

Bedard's career trajectory is still uncertain, but the city of Chicago is eagerly awaiting the arrival of this generational player.
