Matvei Michkov wants to pick his team and it's very revealing for the Canadiens

BY MARCO    JUNE 16, 2023  (2:40 PM)
Matvei Michkov is undoubtedly one of the most promising prospects for the June 28 draft. However, his ranking will be directly linked to his actions, and that's saying a lot.

Firstly, the fact that he didn't go to the Combine didn't go down too well with the rest of the league. Secondly, according to Elliotte Friedman's report, Mishkov will be present at the draft in Nashville, but he won't agree to speak with all the executives of all the teams.

Is he being difficult? It's understandable why his name is tumbling down the lists, when executives can't see him play, see the results of his physical tests and probably not talk to him either.

Add to that his three-year contract in the KHL, the mysterious death of his father and everything that's going on in his native country, and it's starting to look like a lot of risks.
