There was an important development yesterday regarding two prospects to watch for Montreal Canadiens fans.

Indeed, as reported by Eric Engels and Elliotte Friedman, this development involves youngsters Jayden Struble and Devon Levi:
"Northeastern loses its final game of the season, 2-1 to Providence. We'll see what that means for Jayden Struble. He has time to make a decision, but he belongs to the Nationals for now and I'm sure they'd love to sign him." - Eric Engels

"Earlier tonight, Providence beat Northeastern 2-1 in the Hockey East quarterfinals. Upcoming decisions include Devon Levi (BUF wants to sign him), Jayden Struble (MON) and Aidan McDonough (expected to sign with VCR)." - Elliotte Friedman

So an important decision will have to be made by their respective organizations, as their college careers officially ended with this heartbreaking loss.
For his part, now that he is free from NCAA activities, Struble could sign and come finish the season with the Montreal Canadiens. However, this scenario may not be as simple as it sounds, as there is a real risk that the CH would not be able to sign him.
Given that the Tricolore has some depth on the left side of the defense, he would automatically be destined to make his debut in Laval, rather than in the NHL. However, since he has the option of not agreeing with the team to become a free agent, he may want to test the market rather than join the Rocket and the AHL.
This will be a very big file to follow and Kent Hughes will have to be convincing to get a deal with the defenseman.
Struble, 21, was the CH's 46th overall pick in 2019 and has 12 points in 31 games this season in the NCAA.
It will also be interesting to watch what happens in Buffalo in the coming weeks with Devon Levi.
Remember that the latter's name has been frequently linked to the Montreal Canadiens in recent months. Wanting to add a promising goaltender to his organization, Hughes would have even had talks with his counterpart at the Sabres about the 21-year-old goaltender.
In his two seasons in the NCAA, Levi has put up incredible statistics:
2021-2022: in 32 games, 1.54 goals-against average and .952 save percentage, including 10 shutouts.
2022-2023: in 34 games, 2.24 goals-against average and .933 save percentage, including 6 shutouts.
