In addition to dominating the NCAA in his first campaign in the league, earning numerous honours along the way, including a nomination for the prestigious Hobey-Baker Trophy, awarded annually to the league's top player, the 62nd overall pick in the last draft has been sensational in the post-season tournament.
He has taken his game to another level, helping his Boston University team win the Hockey East Conference title yesterday, where he scored two goals, including the game-winner, in overtime.
His performance is making everyone's eyes glaze over, and Canadiens fans are rubbing their hands in the fact that they have a player with exceptional potential in the organization.
Moreover, in connection with the young 19-year-old back, the Tricolore's former scout, Grant McCagg, made a big revelation, involving Hutson.
Of course, comments like that are in no way meant to imply that he will ever become as good as Fox in the NHL. It's always a matter of development and adjustment, especially since Hutson isn't the biggest defenseman at 5-foot-10 and just 160 pounds.
However, to see such a buzz about him, even among NHL scouts, proves that there is something magical for the Habs' future that is being created with Hutson. If he could become just a piece of what Adam Fox is in this league, he would certainly be an important piece of the organization's future success.
In 36 games this year, including post-season games, Hutson has an incredible 14 goals and 47 points.
