It's currently the NHL Combine in Buffalo, and for the occasion, Kent Hughes spoke to the media this morning. A hundred or so prospects are in attendance, and the general manager and his team met with several of them. One name stood out, and you won't believe what the GM had to say. <q>When we interviewed Will (Smith), I texted his parents right after to tell them I couldn't believe how much he'd changed. He's so much more mature, more confident. [...] He's definitely a young man I've grown very fond of as a person and as a player. - Kent Hughes</q> Obviously, Kent Hughes knows Smith well, but he hadn't seen him for some time. It's fair to say he was very impressed with the young man. When the Canadiens' general manager texts a prospect's parents to tell them how impressed he is, it's safe to say he'll be the CH's pick if he isn't selected first.
