Juraj Slafkovsky better than Alexis Lafrenière?

As reported by the Balle Courbe team, a list of the top 168 under-23 prospects has been released by The Athletic and as is often the case with such lists, several choices are highly questionable.

In particular, there's Connor Bedard, who sits atop the rankings ahead of a certain Jack Hughes. Bedard's potential is immense, and he deserves to be ranked highly despite the fact that he has yet to play a game. But to be ahead of a youngster like Hughes, who has just put together a 99-point season, is questionable.

As for Canadiens prospects Juraj Slafkovsky and David Reinbacher, they're ranked ahead of Alexis Lafrenière. Again, Reinbacher hasn't skated in the NHL and Slaf had 10 points in 39 games in his 1st season, while Laffy had 21 points in 56 games in a similar role.

It's also worth noting that Justin Barron is ranked higher than Lane Hutson, which I think is absurd. In short, we can't all agree with this kind of ranking, and that's normal.
