Here's why Matvei Michkov isn't a risk, and it's good for the Habs

It's incredible that a player as talented as Matvei Michkov is seen as outside the top-5 by many experts and observers.

Certainly, the situation in Russia, combined with his KHL contract, is a game-changer, but Craig Button has made a very good point to show people that there's nothing to worry about.
"I don't see any risk in drafting Michkov. Russians always land in the NHL." - Craig Button

That's true in a way. Look at Artemi Panarin, Kirill Kaprizov, even Nikita Gusev who was loudly chanting that he would never come to the NHL.
The reality is that Michkov has a dream: to play in the NHL and win the Stanley Cup. According to Button, he'll enter the league at 21 and cost less than a million a season until he's 24, while scoring between 90 and 100 points.
Obviously, this is a projection, but it speaks volumes about his talent and his intentions to come and play in North America.
