Flames Make Star Winger Available for Trade

According to premier NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Flames are making star winger Tyler Toffoli available for trade.

All signs point to the Flames undertaking a major rebuild in the near future. The team never recovered from the loss of Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk last offseason, and the were inconsistent all season and ended up missing the playoffs.

Tyler Toffoli has one more year left on his deal at $4.75 million per season.

Toffoli, who was acquired for the Montreal Canadiens in 2022, posted 34 goals and 73 points in a career-year for the Flames last season.

If he goes on the trade block, there will be no shortage of suitors for Toffoli

A Toffoli trade could be the start of a mass exodus in Calgary, as rumors are flying about the status of their core.

Frank Seravalli created buzz Thursday morning by saying that the Flames could lose Noah Hanifin, Mikael Backlund and Elias Lindholm soon.

These would be major blows to the team, and may finally usher in a new era.

Seravalli also mentioned the Toffoli news.
