Oilers Prospect Retire at 24
In a surprising twist, Noah Philp, a prospect for the Edmonton Oilers, has decided to retire from hockey at the age of 24.
This season, he scored 19 goals and accumulated a total of 37 points in 70 games in the AHL.
Ken Holland's Comments
Ken Holland, the General Manager of the Oilers, shared his thoughts on Philp's unexpected retirement:
Holland also mentioned that Philp declined a two-year contract extension, choosing retirement instead.
However, the Oilers still have the option to issue a qualifying offer, which would keep Philp's rights intact. This means that if Philp ever decides to come out of retirement, he could still return to playing hockey.
