Connor Bedard just made a monstrous statement about CH prospect Joshua Roy

BY MARCO    JANUARY 5, 2023  (10:15)
Of course, the biggest sensation at this year's World Junior Championships is without a doubt Connor Bedard. Bedard is breaking records at only 17 years of age.

The mere fact that he is getting closer and closer to the surreal mark set by Peter Forsberg in 1993 of 31 points is unimaginable. By the way, the famous Swede set that record at 19, Bedard is technically two years younger than him, and he has 23.

However, in the semi-final game, it was not the name of the future first overall pick of 2023 that was on everyone's lips, but that of Joshua Roy. The Quebecer was outstanding in this pivotal game, providing a two-goal, two-assist performance, and playing exceptional defense and shorthanded hockey.

In fact, his trio partner and future generation player, Connor Bedard, was extremely complimentary of the Canadiens' prospect.

"He was unreal. He's one of the smartest players I've ever played with and the way he dominated that game and stepped up his game when it mattered most was incredible." - Connor Bedard

When the next big NHL star talks like that towards someone, mentioning in passing that he was one of the smartest players he's ever played with in his life, it says everything about the Quebecer.

The fifth round pick of the Habs in 2021 proved, once again, that he is a player who can elevate his game in big occasions. A very nice selection by the CH, who found such a talent so deep in the draft.

Its a promising future for the young kid!

By the way, Roy tied a huge record yesterday, as he became the best Quebec scorer in Team Canada history, with 18 points in two tournaments. He now shares the lead with a certain Jonathan Huberdeau, but he still has one more game in hand to try to take over the first place in history.

Final gold medal game at 6:30 tonight between Canada and the Czech Republic.
