In the last few minutes, we have learned a catastrophic news, coming from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Basically, it confirms what we feared over the weekend.

Indeed, their big acquisition at the trade deadline, forward Ryan O'Reilly, is injured for the long term.
The latter injured his hand after receiving a shot from his teammate, Auston Matthews. The organization has already placed him on the long-term injured list.
Another blow to Toronto as the playoffs approach. It looks like the bad luck continues for them.
In eight games with Toronto, O'Reilly has five points, including three goals.
The team's captain, John Tavares, will also be out for the team's next game against the New Jersey Devils.
"At his press conference, TOR head coach - Sheldon Keefe said that Ryan O'Reilly has a broken finger and is placed on LTIR. (Timeline uncertain as of now.)

John Tavares will not play tomorrow against NJ. [...]" - Elliotte Friedman
