The news just broke, and it's a solid slap in the face to veteran guard Jake Allen.

The Habs have just announced that Samuel Montembeault will be the starting goalie tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
This is a first for the Tricolore this season, so the Quebec goalie will get his fourth straight start, even if Jake Allen is healthy.
It seems that there is a change in mentality with the CH, as the alternation system seems to have definitely taken the edge.
In 30 games this season, Montembeault has a 3.36 GAA and a .904 SV%, and is 13-14-3.
In 40 games this season, Allen has a 14-23-3 record. He has a 3.56 GAA and a .892 SV%.
It looks like Martin St. Louis is leaning more and more towards trusting Monty for the Habs' number one goalie role.
