We've just received significant news about a controversial former coach of the Flames.

Controversial Ex-Flames Coach Tries to Come Back

Bill Peters stepped down from his position in the NHL following grave allegations against him.
In November 2019, Akim Aliu claimed that Peters used racial slurs during Aliu's junior hockey days, and another player alleged physical abuse.
Four years have elapsed since then, and it appears Peters is trying to make a comeback; he's reportedly in talks to join the WHL's Lethbridge Hurricanes.
According to Greg Wyshynski,
"Sounds like ex-Flames coach Bill Peters could resurface as head coach of WHL Lethbridge Hurricanes, as @gdrinnan first reported. Might happen as soon as Wed.

Peters resigned in 2019 after Akim Aliu said the coach directed racial epithets toward him in the minors.

It's been 13 years since the incident happened and four years since Aliu brought Peters' actions to the public's attention.

It's my understanding that Peters only sought an audience with Aliu last week through a third party, apparently in anticipation of this job opportunity."

Peters previously coached for six seasons in the NHL, with tenures at both the Hurricanes and the Flames.
Do you think Peters will make it back into the NHL?
