After the end of the Adidas era of NHL jerseys, a new provider was needed to fill the gap. The NHL has now made their decision, but unfortunately, it seems that many fans are not pleased with the choice.

Fanatics has been selected by the NHL to be the new provider of jerseys for NHL players, but this decision has been met with disappointment, as their fan jerseys have been widely criticized since their release in 2017 for being of subpar quality.

Fanatics will replace Adidas as the NHL's outfitter of on-ice uniforms and authentic jerseys beginning after next season. The deal is signed through 2035.

There likely won't be any innovative design changes until 2026-27 at the earliest.

Fanatics has grown quite the bad reputation in recent years. With cheap materials, bad customer service and awful quality control, this would be most hockey fans' last choice.

One can anticipate that the entry-level fan jerseys will receive only minor improvements and be priced similarly to the high-end flagship jerseys. This decision by the league is seen as a poor one, especially given the long-term commitment to Fanatics until 2035.
