Today a lot of new information was provided that fills in some of the gaps in the 2018 Canadian World Junior scandal. One piece of information revealed by an insider has given a more clear picture of the players' NHL future.
NHL Insider Reveals New Info On Suspended Players From 2018 Team
After the London Police Department press conference, there have been many developments in this story.
The biggest from an NHL perspective was a piece of information provided by insider Darren Dreger. Dreger confirms that each of the four NHL players charged has had their salaries taken off of the salary cap for the respective teams.
The Philadelphia Flyers, New Jersey Devils and Calgary Flames have been informed they will receive cap relief for the players on Leave charged in the 2018 World Junior criminal proceedings.
Up until this point, each team was still responsible for staying within the salary cap including these players. Now the teams will get the salary cap relief and operate as though those players are not in their organization anymore.
