If some candidates like Cayden Primeau or Jakub Dobes can hope to one day play regularly in the NHL, the rest of the pool is not very promising.
However, a very interesting option is available on the free agent market, as Quebec goaltender Yaniv Perets, from Quinnipiac University in the NCAA, is available to graduate to the pros.
The 23 year old goaltender from Dollard-des-Ormeaux has been a scorcher in his last two campaigns in the American college league.
His performances this season have even earned him consideration as far as the preliminary list of 10 players in contention for the Hobey-Baker Trophy, given annually to the NCAA's top player.
Moreover, according to the excellent Marco D'Amico, the talented goalie could be a solution for the Tricolore.
The addition of the latter would be a very good acquisition and would bring some essential depth for the Tricolore, especially in its professional affiliates which are cruelly lacking in talent in front of the net.
The 23-year-old goaltender could start next season with the Laval Rocket, replacing Primeau who could be fighting for a spot in Montreal.
