Michel Bergeron was in great shape on TVA Sports last night when he appeared on Jean-Charles Lajoie's show. He touched on several subjects, but the most interesting is the following one: Rafaël Harvey-Pinard. Here is what he had to say about the Quebecer.

"Harvey-Pinard, I'll tell you something Jean-Charles. There are some who will find what I'm about to say obnoxious. Do you know who I'm comparing him to? Brad Marchand."

Look at the way he plays. Look at his speed. The puck retrieval behind the net, along the rail. His vision."

You can see more details in the following excerpt on the TVA Sports website.
Jean-Charles Lajoie also added that RHP is a little less of a manger than Marchand, which is totally true.
The effort is still there in both cases though. And Harvey-Pinard is able to disrupt the opponent. He gets in front of the net, he's tiring in the forecheck and like it or not, he's a real little poison with the puck near the net. He has 13 goals in 31 games this season. Over a full season, we're talking about more than 30 goals. Now, would RHP be able to produce at that rate for 82 games when the pressure is higher than it is right now? It's impossible to know. We'll have to watch him perform next season to get a better idea.
We agree that comparing him to Marchand is big. But it's not ridiculous. There are similarities in the style of play. And I think that's what Bergeron meant.
