A major scandal is about to break in the OHL and no one can believe it

A major scandal is about to erupt in the Ontario Hockey League, as we learned today, through the excellent journalist Rick Westhead, that an investigation would have revealed that parents paid astronomical sums of money to have their child selected in the 2022 draft.

OHL Commissioner David Branch confirmed that the league has hired an investigator to look into allegations that several parents of hockey players paid more than $30,000 to have their children drafted.

In fact, three coaches in the GTHL, Quebec's equivalent of the U18 AAA, have reportedly revealed that they have evidence of text messages from parents who allegedly did this.

It is frankly unacceptable and totally unthinkable to see this.

We knew that the hockey world is sick, while parents are willing to do many things to get their child to play at the highest level, but to pay over $30,000 for their child to be drafted is the height of ridiculousness.

If a parent has to pay for their child to be drafted by a junior team, it is absolutely certain that they do not have the right calibre to play at that level.

Instead of focusing on training and development, or other facets to make their child better at hockey, these adults decide to bend the rules by cheating. What an example to set for their offspring...

It's like throwing their money away!

I have a feeling that this is a case that will be talked about a lot in the next few days.
