Yesterday, the National Hockey League made a very controversial announcement that the company Fanatics would take over the rights to the official NHL jerseys, starting with the 2024-2025 season.

Most fans are outraged by this new partnership between the league and Fanatics.
The major problem in all this is that Fanatics makes jerseys that are copies of the originals, which are sold much cheaper, but are mostly of poor quality compared to the real Adidas jerseys.
Most are wondering what went on behind the scenes to make this deal slip through the hands of several large sportswear manufacturers.
Related to this topic, according to Ali Murji, one of the giant jersey and sportswear manufacturers, Nike, did not even submit a bid...

It's easy to see why the NHL couldn't convince a major jersey manufacturer to come on board, as Nike, which has worked with the NHL in the past, reportedly even said it wanted to distance its brand from hockey.
Let's just say it's not good news for Gary Bettman and the National League, knowing that such a large sports retailer simply refused to partner with them, even though they are the official supplier of all other major sports in North America, like the NFL, NBA and MLB.
Obviously, there were definitely not a lot of potential partners to partner with the NHL, and they had to fall back on Fanatics.
Like most fans who are obviously against this new partnership, everything points to a serious decline in product quality, which would be a marketing disaster for the league.
It doesn't look good for the future of NHL jerseys!
