Viral post claims Stan Bowman is actively eyeing these 5 forwards for the Oilers

A viral X post claims Bowman is studying Boone Jenner, Jonathan Toews, Jake DeBrusk, Charlie Coyle, plus Panarin as a sleeper.

Bowman has been Edmonton's GM since July 2024, so every whisper lands loud.

Right now it's still just the post, not a confirmed report. That matters as the deadline creeps closer.

Cap-wise, Jenner is $3.75M and Coyle $5.25M, while DeBrusk is $5.5M.

Panarin sits at $11.642M, so Edmonton would need retention.

The same chatter says Edmonton might move Quinn Hutson, Isaac Howard, or Matt Savoie to get it done.

That's the exact post I'm talking about.

Hutson is 24, undrafted, signed April 2025, and led Boston University with 50 points.

As a fan, I hate the idea of selling youth, but I also know Cup windows do not wait.

Howard is 21, a 2022 first-rounder, No. 31 by the Tampa Bay Lightning, and he won the 2025 Hobey Baker.

Savoie is 22, a 2022 first-rounder, No. 9 by the Buffalo Sabres, and he's flashed NHL pace in Edmonton's lineup.

Jenner adds bite at 8-17-25, and Coyle brings matchup minutes at 10-20-30. Either one helps the penalty kill.

DeBrusk is at 12-12-24 and carries $5.5M for the long haul. He fits with pace, but that deal tightens the cap.

Panarin is still at 19-37-56, and New York's retool noise is real. If he waives, the price is a premium prospect plus retention.
