David Pagnotta tied Winnipeg Jets trade chatter to Shane Wright, and the price feels brutal for a team trying to climb.

On Hello Hockey, Pagnotta said the Jets have checked in with Seattle on Wright.
He also floated that Cole Perfetti’s name came up, though he stressed he could not confirm it.
The key line was Seattle wants a top tier piece back, not a clean hockey trade swap.
That tracks with the Kraken dangling Wright only if they can upgrade their top line. That’s why they can stay patient and ask for a king’s ransom.
Wright is 22, a 2022 first rounder, fourth overall, drafted by the Seattle Kraken.
He’s a right shot center, and that alone explains why Kevin Cheveldayoff would kick the tires. Winnipeg has leaned on Mark Scheifele down the middle.

Shane Wright tension rises for Winnipeg Jets

Jets fans are tired of "almost" seasons, but paying roster pain for another project could get ugly fast.
Perfetti is 24, a 2020 first round pick, 10th overall, drafted by Winnipeg, and he still fits the skill top six mold.
If Seattle says no to Perfetti, the ask shifts to a bigger name, or a premium pick plus a blue line sweetener.
On the ice, Winnipeg needs pace and finish, but they also need cost controlled scoring, not another cap squeeze. Moving Perfetti would open a wing hole on the man advantage.
The Jets sit 22-25-7, so the front office has to decide if this is a reset swing or a deadline patch.
Wright’s 9-11-20 line in 54 games hints at runway, yet Seattle’s "top tier" demand is the warning sign. If this turns into a bidding war, I’d rather walk than overpay.
