Andrew Mangiapane trade chatter circles the Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers, and deadline pressure is starting to feel real.

Pierre LeBrun floated three fits, the Jets, Senators, and Blues, as teams to watch in the Andrew Mangiapane market.
Mangiapane is 29, drafted in 2015 in Round 6 by the Calgary Flames, and he’s still the kind of winger who can tilt a middle-six.
The problem is the production has not followed him this season, with 6-6-12 through 47 games and almost no man advantage runway.
That’s why Edmonton’s motivation makes sense, even if the fit never totally clicked on their roster.
Winnipeg’s angle is simple, the Jets are 21-25-7 and they need more finish in their top-nine, especially when games get tight late.
Re Andrew Mangiapane: "I wonder about teams such as the Jets, Senators or Blues as fits."

Cap-wise, Mangiapane carries a $3.6 million cap hit through 2026-27, and he has trade protection that matters if the Oilers try to move him fast.

Andrew Mangiapane could fix a Winnipeg Jets flaw

Jets fans are tired of "almost" hockey right now, so the idea of a buy-low scorer feels equal parts hopeful and dangerous.
On the ice, Mangiapane plays with pace and hunts soft spots, which is exactly what Winnipeg’s cycle game can lack when the first option is covered.
He also gives you a winger who can slide up for a shift with skill, then drop back into a checking look without the whole line falling apart.
From Edmonton’s side, the ask likely starts with a reliable two-way forward, because they’re chasing playoff-proof habits, not just another shooter.
Ottawa and St. Louis make sense too, both need goals, and both can sell themselves as a bigger role than what he’s getting right now.
If you’re the Jets, the sweet spot is adding him without touching your true core, then seeing if a change of scenery lights the fuse.
Either way, this one feels like it will stay loud until Winnipeg plays a clean, convincing stretch and forces the market to move on.
